Christmas fun

We had a fun weekend full of Christmas activities. We got our tree put up! It's a fake one that we've had for 9 years now...we got it when Hunter was a year old and it's still holding up pretty well. This year was great because Hunter basically put the entire thing up himself! It seems we are usually telling him to slow down and take his time but with putting up the Christmas tree - have at it!! Rhyan handed Hunter the pieces and helped put up the decorations. When the tree was done, I wanted to take a picture of the kids together but Rhyan was tired and refused. I got a great picture of her pouting! After we put the kids to bed, Chad and I watched 'It's a Wonderful Life' which he had NEVER seen before! Throughout the movie he kept asking me what the purpose was...ugh. When it was over, he got it and agreed that it's a great movie.

On Sunday, Chad had to work so I hauled the kids to the Christmas light parade on Yakima Avenue. I got there a half hour early to save a spot for my in-laws. Although it was cold, and the parade really wasn't that great, I had reinforcements: hot chocolate and popcorn! Right before the parade started, Rhyan had to go potty but every place was closed. As I walked around trying to find a place for her to go, I managed to lose one of her gloves. I never did find a place for her but she managed to hold on until the parade ended. We ate dinner w/ Papa and Grandma at Miners before heading home. I'm still waiting for Chad to put up our outdoor Christmas lights....we'll see if it'll happen this year or not!

It's hard to tell, but here is Rhyan dancing with the Kent School of Dance girls. She told Papa she had to "get down now" when she saw the float coming.

The kids putting up the tree...

Here's Hunter acting just like his mom, aunt and uncle whenever a camera comes around...

Remember how I mentioned Rhyan pouting? Here it is...

  1. Okay, those last two pictures capture your kids' personalities perfectly. And I'm pretty sure there's a picture of you somewhere at Mom and Dad's house with that exact same expression on your face!
