Pumpkin Carving

We had another busy weekend. Hunter had a football game on Saturday that lasted over two hours! They ended up losing by two points so the guys were pretty disappointed. I had a ton of errands to run Saturday morning before the game so it was nice to get some things done! After church today, we ran home for lunch and then went to look at a building our church is thinking about buying. We've been at the East Valley High School for the past five years so a building would be really awesome. Our Children's Ministry was heading to the pumpkin patch but Rhyan was in a foul mood and we had just went last weekend, so we decided to carve our pumpkins. Rhyan was very excited about it in the beginning.
For some reason, every year, I seem to be the one getting stuck doing 90% of the work. Ok, so Chad was just reading over my shoulder and told me that he bought the pumpkins and likes me to do the rest because I'm so good at it. Isn't he a sweetheart?! Plus he took the pictures of us (as if that wasn't obvious but he wanted me to point that out). Hunter actually helped take the guts this year -for the first time ever!

As you can see, Rhyan got bored with the gut-scooping pretty quick...

I needed a break from the carving (my hand was really tired) so Chad fired up the outdoor fire pit and we had some s'mores!

Hunter decided he wanted to roast an apple... he got the idea from our friend, Arin, who did that last weekend at the Jensen's house. She kept telling Hunter how good it was (since Chad wouldn't let him try roasting an apple there) so he had to try it out for himself today. Apparently it was quite delicious!

After stuffing ourselves with s'mores, I got back to the pumpkin carving. Hunter's pumpkin is the headless horseman but it's sorta hard to make out in the picture.

For Rhyan's, I just wanted to put a cute face on it that she would enjoy.

Even though I complain about it, I always love how well my pumpkins turn out. Ok, so I had to give myself a little pat on the back!
